Steven Tarr is a third-year graduate student in the GT School of Physics. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from Brandeis University in 2019. He is currently finalizing his research with Professor Daniel I. Goldman on a self-induced water-wave Casimir effect of a vibrating robot fan boat and will be transitioning into physics education research shortly. Though Steven is new to physics education research and does not yet know his specific interests, he is highly passionate about teaching as a performance art and loves engaging with his students by embracing the dual role of instructor and entertainer. When not grinding away at research, Steven often indulges his foodie side by concocting delicious (and occasionally devious) dishes ranging from gnocchi to okonomiyaki to original ice cream flavors and everything in between.
